San Diego operates one of California's most restrictive short-term rental frameworks. Since May 2023, all vacation rentals require a Short-Term Residential Occupancy (STRO) license. The system uses four tiers, each with different rules, caps, and requirements.
San Diego's STRO Tier Structure:
- Tier 1: Part-Time (< 20 days/year) Entire home rentals, host off-site allowed. Simplest option, limited income.
- Tier 2: Home-Sharing (> 20 days/year) Host must live on-site (90-day annual absence allowed). Includes rooms, duplexes, ADUs.
- Tier 3: Whole-Home (Excluding Mission Beach) Entire home, 20+ days/year. Capped at 1% of citywide housing. 2-night minimum.
- Tier 4: Mission Beach Whole-Home Mission Beach only. Capped at 30% of neighborhood housing. Lottery system with current waitlist.

My family of 8 loved this condo! we have older teens, all the way down to a the year old and everyone had their own space and plenty of storage for things. We lived the hot tub and the sauna. it was close to shopping and restaurants. We had a couple of questions while there and the host was very responsive and kind. We loved the decor and we had everything we needed to cook and clean up. We would definitely stay here again!

This was the perfect mountain getaway- the condo is beautiful and charming, with great Mountain views, cozy fire, and hot tub, easy access to everything, including skiing and shuttle to Park City for dinner and shopping. and is well stocked with all the amenities you need. Fantastic stay all around! The hosts were very responsive and made everything simple from check-in to check-out. The house was extremely comfortable and clean, with a washer/ dryer and fully equipped kitchen that had everything we needed. The hot tub was clean and hot, which was perfect after skiing. Great location- close to everything and with a bus stop right across the street for easy access around town. We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it!
Location, location, location. Place is in the perfect spot if you’re hitting the slopes at Mountain Village. Quick walk to either the village or the free bus stop if you have skis. Also very short bus ride to Main Street. Community jacuzzi was nice after a long day of skiing.

We loved our stay in Westgate Village, Park City, Utah— the property was clean, perfectly prepared by Jaunt, and so close to the ski resorts and mountain. It was a quick drive from Salt Lake City airport, with great restaurants on Main Street nearby and plenty of family activities. We felt safe and had an amazing time!

The hosts were beyond helpful, warm and kind and as I was travelling alone that meant a great deal! The location is spectacular! The accommodation is ideally situated in Park City, close to both the beauty and the fun. Being in the building compound allows for easy access to parking, pools and the spa! This was a great ending to a long road trip for us. The sauna was amazing and the proximity to Park City was superb. It's very walkable but there's free and frequent busses available too.

We’ve been coming up to Park City every Thanksgiving week for years (our favorite family tradition) and we have finally found our FAVORITE place to stay!! We all agreed we would LOVE to come here every year for as long as it’s available.
The host took care of every need right away! Somehow the water heater tripped the breaker and we didn’t have hot water and they were there to fix the issue within an hour and super responsive. Thank you Jaunt for the best experience!
We had an awesome Friendsgiving stay. There was more than enough space for three couples and a baby. The host provided us with a pack-n-play, booster seat and a stroller. The area is super walkable.
